    The Bowery

The Bowery is not your ordinary arts café. With its roots inspired by the famous Bowery district of New York, this Leeds hub has quickly become a magnet for creatives, coffee lovers, and curious travelers. Located in the lively neighborhood of Headingley, The Bowery combines the inviting atmosphere of a neighborhood café with the excitement of an ever-evolving gallery and creative workspace. Whether you want to relax, create, socialize or discover the local art scene, The Bowery invites you to settle in and experience a different side of Leeds.

    History of The Bowery

The story of The Bowery is one of adventure, ambition, and creative passion. The dream began when Sandra and Ged Togher decided to step away from conventional careers, traveling the world and drawing inspiration from their time in New York’s Bowery district. Returning to Leeds in 2006, they transformed their vision into reality by establishing a space in Headingley that would offer community, art, and creativity under one roof.

Nine years and much hard work later, The Bowery had expanded, welcoming more visitors, artists, and creative minds than ever. Now a proud fixture at 54 Otley Road, The Bowery continues to grow and reinvent itself, maintaining its original mission: to be a haven for creativity, relaxation, and cultural enrichment.
