The Singapore Discovery Centre (SDC) is an interactive heritage and edutainment centre in the west of Singapore, next to the SAFTI Military Institute in Jurong West. History of Singapore Discovery Centre
SDC opened to the public in October 1996 and was officially opened on 23 November 1996. It was set up under the Ministry of Defence and began with a strong focus on national defence and the Singapore Armed Forces.
The centre closed for redevelopment from late 2004 and reopened in July 2006. A later revamp added the escape rooms, laser battlefield and new galleries, including Through the Lens of Time, which opened in 2021. SDC is now part of the Defence Collective Singapore group of attractions.

How Long to Spend at Singapore Discovery Centre

How to Get There
- MRT: Joo Koon station (East West Line) is the nearest; from there it is a 10 to 15 minute walk or a short bus ride.
- Bus: service 182 from Joo Koon Bus Interchange runs along Upper Jurong Road past the centre.
- Taxi or car: 510 Upper Jurong Road, Singapore 638365. There is a car park on site. Expect 30 to 40 minutes from the city centre.
