    Rambla Casino

Located on the central oceanfront, Rambla Casino stretches from Playa Bristol to the Gran Hotel Provincial, connecting the classic sands of Mar del Plata with the city’s lively nightlife, cuisine, and cultural events. Its sweeping steps and expansive terraces afford panoramic views over the Atlantic, while wide promenades, bustling cafes, and a rich program of festivals make it a true urban spectacle at any time of year. As locals and tourists converge, the atmosphere becomes vibrant with the essence of urban beach life in Mar del Plata, where sunbathers and surfers coexist harmoniously. The sandy shores offer a perfect retreat, complemented by trendy beach bars and lively music festivals that embody the spirit of summer. This dynamic setting not only attracts sun seekers but also fosters a sense of community, where memories are made against the backdrop of the sea.

    History of Rambla Casino

The Rambla Casino and its twin centerpiece, the Central Casino, were devised in the late 1930s by famed architect Alejandro Bustillo, inspired by the Hôtel du Palais in Biarritz, France. The project was completed in 1939–41, introducing a neoclassical complex clad in brick and quartzite, topped with slate mansard roofs, and festooned with porticos and French Art Deco flourishes. Interior design was guided by French master Jean-Michel Frank.

The esplanade, Bristol Square, and the twin buildings rapidly became the definitive face of Mar del Plata’s elite summer tourism. In the latter half of the 20th century, as the casino opened to wider audiences, the Rambla grew into a meeting ground for all Argentines—now a symbol of both coastal glamour and popular festivities.
