    Playa Amarilla

Nestled along the scenic coast of Concón in the Valparaíso Region, Playa Amarilla is one of Chile’s most picturesque beaches, captivating visitors with its golden sands, tranquil waves, and stunning sunsets. Aptly named for its distinctive yellow hue, Playa Amarilla offers both tranquility and adventure in a serene setting that embodies the charm of Chile’s Pacific coast. Located just 20 kilometers north of Viña del Mar and about 30 kilometers from Valparaíso, it has become a favorite seaside destination for families, couples, and international travelers seeking a perfect blend of relaxation and recreation.

    History of Playa Amarilla

The origins of Playa Amarilla trace back to the 19th century, when the coastal area of Concón began transitioning from rural farmland to a seaside retreat. Development took shape in 1895 with the subdivision of the Hacienda Concón Bajo estate. Significant progress occurred during the 1920s with the construction of the coastal road that improved accessibility from Viña del Mar and Valparaíso. By the 1950s and 1960s, Playa Amarilla evolved into a prime tourist hub with new infrastructure, including access ramps and service facilities, officially inaugurated on December 24, 1960. Today, the beach retains its local charm while embracing modern tourism, offering both quiet beauty and vibrant cultural surroundings.
