Phuket FantaSea is a large evening theme park in Kamala, about 9 km north of Patong, built around a Thai-palace-style theatre. History of Phuket FantaSea
FantaSea opened in Kamala in the late 1990s as one of Thailand’s first large-scale night-time cultural theme parks. Its theatre seats around 3,000 people and its Golden Kinnaree buffet restaurant can serve about 4,000 diners, figures that made it one of the biggest evening attractions in Southeast Asia. The show tells a story inspired by Thai mythology and folklore.
The use of performing elephants has become controversial, and some booking platforms no longer sell FantaSea tickets because of animal welfare policies. Visitors who prefer to avoid animal shows may want to consider an alternative.
