The Oryukdo Skywalk is a horseshoe-shaped glass platform that juts out from a cliff at Seungdumal in Nam-gu, Busan, about 35 m above the sea. From the glass floor you look straight down at the waves, and across to the rocky Oryukdo islets.
Entry is free, and it is the start (or end) of the scenic Igidae Coastal Walk.

History of Oryukdo Skywalk
The skywalk opened in October 2013 on the Seungdumal headland, whose name refers to its saddle-like shape. It overlooks the Oryukdo islets, whose name means “five or six islands” because, depending on the tide, the group appears as five or six islands. Formed by volcanic activity tens of millions of years ago, the islets were designated a national scenic site in 2007 and are part of Busan’s national geopark.

- The glass platform: A short U-shaped walkway with a transparent floor over the sea. Visitors wear shoe covers to protect the glass.
- Oryukdo islets: The rocky islands just offshore, one with a lighthouse.
- Oryukdo Haemaji Park: A clifftop park beside the skywalk, with flowers in spring and sea views.
- Igidae Coastal Walk: A roughly 4.7 km cliffside trail from the skywalk to Dongsaeng-mal, with views of Gwangan Bridge and Haeundae.
Things to Do at Oryukdo Skywalk
- Walk on the glass: It takes only a few minutes, but queues can form at weekends.
- Hike the Igidae Coastal Walk: Allow around 2 to 3 hours one way; there are stairs and suspension bridges along the way.
- Take photos: The islets and the open sea are best on a clear day; on very clear days you may see Tsushima in the distance.
- Watch the sunrise: The headland faces the open sea and is a popular early-morning spot.
Oryukdo Skywalk – Entry Eligibility and Open Timings
Entry is free. The skywalk is usually open from 9:00 to 18:00, and it closes in bad weather such as strong wind, heavy rain or snow. Check the Nam-gu tourism information or ask locally if the weather looks rough. Hours can be extended in summer.

How Long to Spend at Oryukdo Skywalk
The skywalk itself takes 20 to 30 minutes. Allow half a day if you add the Igidae Coastal Walk.
How to Get There
- Subway and bus: Busan Metro Line 2 to Kyungsung University-Pukyong National University Station, then city bus 27 or 131 towards Oryukdo to the last stop at Oryukdo SK View, then a short walk. Allow about 30 minutes for the bus.
- Taxi: Around 20 minutes from Gwangalli or Seomyeon, depending on traffic.
- Tours: Several Busan day tours include Oryukdo.
