    Little Venice

    Located within the heart of Baku, Azerbaijan, Little Venice is a charming attraction that brings a touch of Italy to this vibrant city. Situated in the Seaside National Park (Baku Boulevard), it offers visitors a tranquil escape from urban life with its picturesque canals, ornate bridges, and serene gondola rides. This miniature version of Venice has become a must-visit spot for both locals and tourists seeking relaxation and unique experiences.

    History of Little Venice

    Little Venice was first constructed in 1960 as part of Baku’s urban development projects. Initially designed as a small network of artificial canals within Baku Boulevard, it underwent significant renovations in 2012 to enhance its appeal. The expansion included adding more channels and islands connected by decorative stone bridges. Today, Little Venice stands as one of Baku’s most beloved attractions.

    • Gondola Rides: Take a leisurely ride through the canals on traditional gondolas operated by friendly gondoliers who often share stories about the area.

    • Dining Options: Enjoy local Azerbaijani cuisine or international dishes at restaurants situated on islands accessible via charming bridges.

    Little Venice – Entry Eligibility and Open Timings

    Little Venice is open daily from approximately 10 AM to 11:30 PM. It is suitable for all age groups; however, children should be supervised due to water areas. The site does not restrict entry based on age but encourages adult supervision for young children.

    How Long to Spend at Little Venice

    Visitors typically spend around an hour or two exploring this attraction; however, you may choose to linger longer if enjoying meals or relaxing walks.

    How to Get There

    • Metro: While there isn’t a direct metro line nearby, you can take any metro line that connects you centrally (e.g., Icherisheher Station) and then use buses or taxis from there.
    • Bus: Use bus numbers like 88, 61, 2, 6, or others that stop near Neftchilar Avenue where Little Venice is located.
    • Taxi/Ride-hailing Services: Taxis are readily available throughout Baku. A ride from central locations will take around ten minutes.
    • Walking/Cycling: If staying nearby or enjoying scenic routes along Baku Boulevard (Seaside Promenade), walking or cycling are pleasant options offering beautiful views en route.
