Built in traditional mud-and-clay style over several floors, it combines a popular traditional Saudi restaurant with displays of historic objects and a small market.

History of Heritage Village Dammam
The Heritage Village is a modern building designed to recreate the look of a traditional fort, with earthy walls, heavy wooden doors and colourful windows. Rather than a historic site in itself, it is a showcase for heritage: its collection includes artefacts from across the Eastern Province such as old weapons, manuscripts, photographs and household items, as well as vehicles said to have belonged to King Salman.
It reflects a wider interest in Saudi Arabia in preserving and presenting the country’s traditional architecture and way of life.
