Gulshan-e-Iqbal Park is one of the largest public parks in Lahore, covering more than 67 acres in the residential district of Allama Iqbal Town. With a large artificial lake, children’s rides and wide lawns, it is a favourite weekend outing for Lahori families.
It is not a heritage site, but it is a good place to see everyday Lahore at leisure, especially on a warm evening or a holiday.

History of Gulshan-e-Iqbal Park
The name means “Garden of Iqbal”, after Muhammad Iqbal, Pakistan’s national poet and philosopher, after whom Allama Iqbal Town is also named. The park was developed as the main green space for this planned residential area in the south-west of the city.
On 27 March 2016 (Easter Sunday) a suicide bombing near the main gate killed more than 70 people, many of them children. The park reopened afterwards with tighter security, and it remains one of the busiest family parks in Lahore.

- Artificial lake: the centrepiece of the park, with paddle boats and boat rides when in operation.
- Rides and play areas: a family amusement area with rides for children and adults, plus newer playgrounds.
- Mini zoo: a small animal enclosure; visit with care and do not feed the animals.
- Lawns and walking paths: shaded paths and open lawns popular with joggers and picnickers.

- Go boating: take a boat out on the lake when the rides are operating.
- Picnic with the locals: bring snacks and join the families on the lawns, especially on weekends and public holidays.
- Morning walk or jog: the paths are busiest with walkers early in the day.
- Let the kids loose: the rides and play areas are the main draw for families.

- By air: Allama Iqbal International Airport (LHE) is on the opposite side of the city; allow roughly 40 to 60 minutes by taxi or ride-hailing car, depending on traffic.
- By ride-hailing: Careem or inDrive is the easiest option; ask for Gulshan-e-Iqbal Park, Allama Iqbal Town.
- By rickshaw: auto-rickshaws and qingqis are easy to find on the main roads around Allama Iqbal Town.

- Allama Iqbal Town: the surrounding markets have plenty of local restaurants serving karahi, BBQ and chaat.

Gulshan-e-Iqbal Park is a large family park in Allama Iqbal Town, with a boating lake, rides and lawns that fill up with Lahoris on weekends and holidays. It is a relaxed break from sightseeing rather than a heritage attraction.
