    Eternal Flame

Lumbini, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, holds immense significance as the birthplace of Siddhartha Gautama, who became known as Buddha. Among its many sacred sites, the Eternal Flame stands out as a powerful symbol of peace and enlightenment. This post will delve into the history, attractions, and experiences offered by the Eternal Flame, providing travelers with valuable insights for their visit.

    History of Eternal Flame

The Eternal Flame in Lumbini was inaugurated in 2003 as part of a global initiative to promote peace and harmony. It was established under the guidance of various Buddhist organizations and is located within the Lumbini Garden, close to the Maya Devi Temple. The flame is designed to burn continuously, representing the unyielding quest for peace and enlightenment that transcends cultural and religious boundaries.

The concept of an eternal flame is deeply rooted in many cultures and religions, symbolizing hope, continuity, and remembrance. In Buddhism, it serves as a reminder of the teachings of Buddha, encouraging visitors to reflect on their own paths toward inner peace.
