    Elephant Mountain

Elephant Mountain, locally known as Xiangshan (象山), is one of Taipei’s most famous attractions, offering breathtaking views of the city skyline and the iconic Taipei 101 skyscraper. Nestled within the bustling Xinyi District, this natural gem provides visitors with a perfect blend of adventure, scenic beauty, and urban convenience. Whether you’re a nature enthusiast, a photography lover, or simply seeking a peaceful retreat from the city’s hustle, Elephant Mountain is a must-visit destination.

    History of Elephant Mountain

Elephant Mountain is part of the Four Beasts Mountain Range, which includes Tiger Mountain, Lion Mountain, and Leopard Mountain. Historically, it served as a backdrop to Taipei’s urban development but wasn’t initially a focal point for tourism. Its popularity surged after the completion of Taipei 101 in 2004, as visitors sought the best vantage point to admire this architectural marvel. Over time, Elephant Mountain became synonymous with eco-tourism and urban hiking in Taiwan.

The rise of social media further propelled its fame. The mountain’s iconic viewpoints have become hotspots for Instagram-worthy photos, attracting influencers and photographers worldwide. Today, Elephant Mountain is celebrated not only for its panoramic views but also for its role in promoting sustainable tourism.
