History of Al Rashid Mall
Al Rashid Mall opened in 1995, built by its owner, Al-Rashed Trading & Contracting, to a Y-shaped plan. It was one of the region’s first large modern malls and its design received a certificate of merit from the International Council of Shopping Centers.
Later expansions added a Carrefour hypermarket in a separate building, a multi-storey car park and a detached mosque, and the mall has continued to refurbish sections over the years.
